Shopping In Milan FOTD

And next up, we have Shopping in Milan! Again you can view the swatches here and sorry for skipping Coffee in New York, I'll try and do that next.

So here I decided to do full face makeup with foundation, concealer, the works. So I decided I'd start with just foundation and concealer, without the eye makeup, blusher, lipgloss.

It seems that I went over one eyebrow with powder and didn't noticer, that's why they look weird, woops!

And now...with the eye makeup from the palette along with Sleek Gel Liner and mascara.

I used the darker lipgloss on this one, it's quite a nice look :)

And here we have with the lighter lipgloss and I actually like this picture a lot for once :)

Next up some eye shots...

Hope you all liked this look :) I probably won't update tomorrow, very hectic on tuesdays xxxx

Dinner In Paris FOTD

So as promised here is the first FOTD with the Sephora 5 in 1 Colorplay palette, this one for the Dinner In Paris palette, which you can look at the swatches here.

So I didn't do a black smokey eye as that would be WAY too overbearing on my face, considering the black hair and black eyebrows I have.

See? Very light and still was nearly bordering on too dark. I did the blush and the lipgloss as well, as you can see the blush is REALLY prominent, in the beginning it was too prominent, but otherwise this is great for the classic look.

Next up, the look I made with Shopping in Milan today :) xxx

Sephora Colorplay 5 in 1 Palette Clubbing in Tokyo 5/5

YAY WE'RE FINALLY DONE! This is the final installment of the five Sephora Colorplay palettes and I'm pretty chuffed to have finally done it. Wow, that was a lot of finallys.

So the Clubbing in Tokyo palette is basically pastel colours, which means that the colours are okay at best as they're all pretty light.

You can sort of see the organisation of the palette here with one row being the darker colours and then the next row, each of those colours' lighter equivalents.

And also here we don't really have a specific colour range, just yellow, green, pink, blue and a yellow-green. Although the lighter green looks bluer than it should be.

Again, fallout in the glosses...argh the colours are gorgeous though. Again with the pastel theme, a pale lipgloss and then a lovely bright pink, exactly what I love. The blush is quite light and I'm not sure whether it'd show up on my skintone, I had some difficulties with swatching it, actually.

Wow, surprise here! The light colours are actually decently pigmented, which contradicts what I was thinking as the other palettes are poorer in terms of light colour quality.

The lipglosses are pretty good as well, as you can see the pale oneis quite sheer, so it wouldn't blank out your lips. As for the blush, here you can see how it's not very good at showing up on my skin.

So that's it for the Sephora 5 in 1 palette! I've decided I'm now going to do some FOTDs with each palette, some of which will already be posted by the time this is published, so I hope you like them. Comments would be incredibly appreciated and would make you get a virtual cookie :) xx

Sephora Colorplay 5 in 1 Tango in Buenos Aires Palette 4/5

Part 4/5 is Tango in Buenos Aires composed of blues and greens (wow that's a very interesting description)

So here we actually have some contrasting eye and lip colours (well, thank god for that, I dunno about you, but I'm not keen on blue lipgloss)

Again, we have some glittery, matte and shimmery shades. A bit of everything, which is really quite handy for this palette because it'll satisfy everyone.

The lipglosses are GORGEOUS, especially the coral shade, although as you can see, I've experienced some fallout which has messed it up and for that reason, you don't get the exact colour unless you're very careful where you put your brush. The blusher is quite good for contouring as it's leaning on the yellow side rather than being pink.

Now all the shades in this are pretty pigmented, which is great compared to the previous one which was kind of iffy.

So here you can see the lipglosses which are a bit bluer due to the fallout of the eyeshadows next to them, which is quite a big con to the whole palette, as it's happened with all the lipglosses, except these are the only ones that are noticeable.

So there you have it for part four and we've only got one left, which you should hopefully get next Saturday! xxx

Sephora Colorplay 5 in 1 Palette Shopping in Milan 3/5

And here we have the third part of the Sephora Colorplay palettes, this one being named Shopping in Milan, which I have never done myself, but I am assured that it is really cool by a friend.

For some reason, the quality of the picture is appalling which is bugging me cause it did NOT look like that on Photoshop.

So here we have mainly purples and pinks with...two browns and a green, which are quite random.

The lipglosses match two of the eyeshadows nearly EXACTLY, which I suppose isn't bad, but I'd usually expect it to be a colour that might be different yet still compliment the eyes and then there's the blush, which is a pink-peachy tone.

Sooooo, these are all again quite pigmented EXCEPT the light pinks, which took several attempts to even show up on the swatch! I think this palette is probably the poorest in terms of quality, but then again, that magnificent green makes up for it.

The blush and glosses are quite pigmented as well, which is good. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether the colour of the blush will suit me, which I need to try out at one point.

What I think I'll do next is write the post for the next one and schedule it for midweek, okay?

Sephora Colorplay 5 in 1 Palette Coffee in New York 2/5

And here we go on to part two, Coffee in New York!

Now this is more a neutral look which is perfect for those of you with blue eyes if you want to make your eyes pop!

So again a mix of shimmery, glittery and matte shades. Again this palette also has a nude highlight colour, which I think only this and the Dinner in Paris one have.

As for the lipglosses and blush, you have a dark brown, orange and a peachy blush(wow I am just so literate!).

Here you can see how wonderfully pigmented the shimmery shades are! The mattes are ok, not too troublesome (I think those are the lighter shades) and yet again, I spy a glitter.

Now these lipglosses are lovely although the orange is a lot sheerer on the lips, so it's not quite as daunting. The blush has improved as well, it's way more subtle than the first one and a lot more wearable.

As you can see, the swatches were a bit lopsided, which I tend to do often, sorry!
This is all from me for today, I will try and update during the week, I really will, but if not, Saturday I will.

Sephora Colorplay 5 in 1 Palette Dinner in Paris 1/5

I have decided I'm going to break this up in 5 parts as it would be very image heavy otherwise.

First of all, this is dedicated to Steph because she asked about this in a previous post of mine a couple of weeks ago and I promised I'd put up a review pronto as I already had the pictures, but I never got round to it, so here it finally is. I also took new pictures cause the old ones weren't incredible and I've been trying to improve my photography thanks to Makeup Savvy's amazing guide.

SO, the elusive Sephora Colorplay palette that I've talked about a few times. Now I bought this because if you had a Sephora Black card, you would get it for €29.95 instead of €39.95 and I had to snap it up.

The packaging is quite pretty, sort of thick and obviously not possible to carry around in your bag, but it has a travel case so you can pop one of the five smaller palettes into it and take in your bag, which is sort of the point of the whole palette.

Now in the palette you have 5 blushes, 10 lipglosses and a whopping 50 eyeshadows! So I guess that could justify the price a little, but then again it depends on the quality of everything.

I'm gonna review this with each little palette individually from left to right, starting with the black/greys called Dinner in Paris.

Obviously this palette is meant for the classic smokey eye and red lip that everybody loves. You have some glittery blacks, mattes, highlights and I believe there might even be a taupe colour? I'm not sure if it is as I'm not the best at telling colours apart.

Here's a close up of the eyeshadows and the glosses/blush, respectively.

Now for the swatches...

So here we have the eyeshadows swatched (over UDPP of course). In terms of pigmentation they're not bad, the shimmery ones are better than the mattes, which were a little more troublesome to swatch, but I believe all mattes are like that. There are a few glittery colours, which I'm not mad on but that means there's something for everyone.

As for the lipglosses, the red isn't as bold as I hoped, I've tried building it up but that didn't work very well. The see through gloss has a bit of glitter in it, again, I'm not keen on glitter on lips, so I might boycott that one a little. The blush is matte and WOW you have to be light handed with this! Be very careful in applying it because one stroke could have you redder than you wanted.

So that's 1/5, next up is Coffee in New York!

Online Haul!

Last week, whilst sick, I decided to spend the last of my film money on some treats that I just couldn't resist on Zoeva, a german online shop which I think is the equivalent to America's Coastal Scents.

And guess what the UPS man delivered today....? My goodies! First off, I have to recommend this brand, because they shipped it really quickly to my house (today was the third attempt...I wasn't expecting them to deliver it so quickly whilst I was still on holiday), although the shipping is about 7€, so quite pricey.

In my excitement, I was halfway through opening the package before I realised I should take some piccies.

I ordered their 28 Nude Eyeshadow Palette(14.95€) and Basic 12 Brush Set(20€).

I'll start with the brushes and then go on about the Palette. The Brushes came in a black (leather? I've forgotten :P..bad naty) brush holder in an adorable velvet bag!

I love the packaging, it's simple but very professional looking.

So in this set, you get (l-r) a powder brush, a slanted blush brush, a foundation brush, a short haired smudger brush, a small crease brush, crease brush, fan brush, small eyeshadow brush, double-ended eyeshadow brush, double-ended flat liner brush, double-ended eyebrow comb and brush and finally, a lip brush.

Just a side note, I'm not sure if those are the correct labels, I only have the names in German (and in no order, at that), so I've tried my best at translating them.

(l-r: top row powder brush, slanted blush brush
bottom row foundation brush, smudger brush)

First of all, WOW at the softness of these. I spent a couple of minutes just brushing the powder brush against my face, it felt so nice and using the powder brush to apply my blush (I didn't use the slanted one), it really picks up the blusher and applies it really well! I haven't tried the foundation brush or the slanted blusher brush yet, but they look to be just as good, but there was a drawback to the foundation brush... As for the smudger/blending brush, I used that in my crease and it really blended the shadow out well, so thumbs up for that!

Yeah, it had some ugly marks on it and was sort of stuck to the plastic, but it was the only one so I'll just brush it off as a one off. Haha, sorry for that pun, I'm full of them lately!

(l-r: top row small crease brush, crease brush
bottom row fan brush, eyeshadow brush)

Again, the brushes are all incredibly soft, I can't really say much else as I haven't tried them out yet but if there's something really wrong with them, I will let you all know.

(l-r: top row eyeshadow brush, double-ended nylon eyeshadow pt 1 brush
bottom row double-ended nylon eyeshadow pt 2, double-ended nylon eyeshadow brush)

Yeah..this second pic of the eyeshadow brush shows what happened when I first picked it up, not that impressed with this one, but hopefully it's nothing superglue can't fix! The rest of the pictures are all of the double-ended eyeshadow brush, which is pretty standard and practical having two parts, so that you can alternate between the two to avoid mixing your colours.

(l-r: top row double-ended flat liner pt 1 brush, double-ended flat liner pt 2 brush
bottom row
double-ended flat liner brush, eyebrow comb brush)

Again, these are pretty standards. I'm looking forward to trying out the flat liner as I've only got a slanted liner brush and maybe this might help making my gel liner easier to apply. The eyebrow comb is quite good, miles better than the old mascara brush that I've been using to comb my lashes.
(l-r: top row slanted eyebrow powder brush, double-ended eyebrow brush
bottom row flip brush, lip brush)

The eyebrow powder brush is sort of hard to use, it's actually quite scratchy compared to the others but it does apply the powder quite smoothly, which is what I want, so I'll just have to get used to the scratchiness. The lip brush is pretty good too, applies the product smoothly, although I have no idea how I'm supposed to use the black bit :P

So all in all, the brushes are quite good quality and I'm happy with them (and the fact that I don't need to splash out on MAC now!) so now it's time for the palette!

Nice and sleek, isn't it? Again, it looks quite professional and simple, so the first impression is good.

Aaaah, heaven! 28 Nude mostly matte with a few shimmers chucked in there colours, all in pretty big pans! The perfect thing for someone like me who's just starting out with matte nudes (yes, most of my eyeshadows are actually shimmery :O)

Now for a closer look and swatches, starting with the bottom horizontal row.

So you have everything in this palette. Highlights, dark colours, some gorgeous shimmers chucked in there, although due to my stupid camera, you can't really tell. If these swatces aren't good enough, just tell me and I'll gladly take some more! The eyeshadows are all quite pigmented, although I think you will definitely need a base with these to ensure the high pigmentation.

All in all, I'm very happy with the palette and the brushes, so maybe in the future, when I've got some more money, I'll pay another visit to Zoeva. Hope you all enjoyed this! And big kisses and thank yous to my new (and old, of course) followers, you guys make me so happy! And I'm thinking of doing a giveaway when I hit 25 followers, so stay tuned!
