lazy days

Hello everyone, how are you all?
I myself have had a rather lucrative and productive weekend, babysitting and tutoring yesterday. I'm especially pleased with myself as I am saving up to buy everyone presents, especially once I get to England (16 days!). Aside from that, with yesterday the 1st of December, we've had our first (official) snowfall! It was lovely last night, watching it snow. Snow never fails to lift my spirits up, although unfortunately it had all melted by this afternoon...

I have decided to do an outfit post as instead of just wandering around in my joggers and some random top, I actually put a different outfit on as I felt like wearing some of my more winter appropriate clothes, especially as it's officially December and it's getting quite chilly now.

I have yet to master the art of both posing and getting my camera in good position (let's hope Christmas fixes the latter - I'm hoping to get a tripod of some description). I don't usually wear leggings as I've always preferred tights. But I've seen a lot of people wearing leggings and a long top and it is quite a nice look, so I decided to try it out myself. I'm not sure if I would go out in this outfit, especially with the woolly cardigan - I fear it may be too in your face for some people in Luxembourg.

But I would definitely like to try the leggings + long top combo, perhaps tomorrow if it's not too cold and if I dig a nice long top out of my wardrobe. I've noticed that I have a distinct lack of long tops and party dresses. In fact, I only really have three party dresses and one of them doesn't even fit me...

So the cardigan in question was a gift from my nan. She knows how much I like  neon colours and whilst I have toned my wardrobe down from what it was like a few years ago (clashing colours galore if you're curious), I still do like the odd colourful piece. Knowing my nan, it's most likely from TK Maxx or M&S, and I just checked and it is indeed from Marks & Spencers. I like that the print isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, its oddness is endearing to me so maybe I will wear it out to school, even if people will think it's a monstrosity. At the least, I'll wear it if I attempt to take my dog for a walk (as a side note, I have the laziest dog ever).

But the pattern is definitely wintery, so I will probably wear it most weekends, even if my dad winces when he sees it. My dad thinks my fashion choices are 'unique', in his diplomatic words, especially my pink doc martens, of which he isn't particularly fond.

Anyway I hope you all like this post, although I am aware that my blog isn't nor will it ever be a fashion blog. I suppose I just like to occasionally post my outfit of the day, if it's something special. I won't post every day as usually I repeat my outfits weekly ;)

So what do you all like to wear at home on lazy days? I've seen the trend of onesies grow but I haven't yet bought one...who knows, I might buy one when I'm in England :)

Return from Angleterre!

Hiya everyone! Now you probably don't know that I went to England unless you stalk my twitter insanely and I really doubt anyone does that (except my sister cause that is the only way she will find out what's happening in my life). But I did go there and on Tuesday I returned. And then the internet crashed. Sheesh!

Moving on, whilst I was in England, I splashed out on a few clothes for myself as I get bored with many of my clothing items. Aside from that, I spent a lot of time hunting down a black skirt, which let me just say HOW BLOODY HARD IS IT TO FIND A BLACK SKIRT?! Very would be the answer. But why did I need one? Well, our play that is in TWO WEEKS *hyperventilates* is an english play, so we need uniforms. I refuse to wear trousers so I looked for a black skirt. I stopped caring about the style cause I was getting desperate by Saturday. I find one in Select (cause H&M, Peacocks, River Island and co all disappointed me) for £4...but a size 18. 'Oh well', I thought,'I shall just wear it baggy.' I bought it and went home to my Nan's and tried it on but it was really too big. So we had to go to Margate to look in their Select. I ended up finding my size, so joy of joys, the hunt is over.

Moving on, I found some lovely boots from Matalan, a GORGEOUS top from River Island and a nice skirt from Primark. All featured in this outfit I wore. I know, I just can't wait to show off, eh? Anyway, this is what I call a dani-esque outfit.

I look really awkward in these and somehow seem to attempting to copy S.B.V's signature pose (sorry!) but just looking ridiculous. Thanks to Ste for being my lovely photographer, but after all what is an 'adoptive sister' for?;)

Anyways, for those interested prices are as follows:

Hairbow - Primark £2
Scarf - Select £1
Blouse - River Island £20
Skirt - Primark £10
Tights - Matalan 3 pairs for £4
Boots - Matalan £20

And the jacket is from New Look but I'm not sure whether they still sell it as I got it a year ago.

I shall post about makeup soon, never fear, just thought I would get this out of the way!

Peacocks dress

Hello!
So this is the second post in a row concerning an outfit of mine, never fear, I won't be changing the blog name to ohlalafashion, because I'm just not a fashionista nor do I really wear that many creative outfits.

Anyway, I saw this dress on peacocks' site and just could not resist. There was a slight kerfuffle in that my grandparents had to order it (and then my granddad nearly ordered it 11 times!!!) as I don't live in England and bring it over, which they did when they arrived here on Tuesday and luckily, it met ALL expectations.

It looked HUGE on the hanger but fit perfectly (that must say something about my size..)

So lovely posey mirror pictures aside (I have yet to find someone to take pictures of me), you can see the dress here, but not quite as well as I would like, so I'll try and get someone to take a picture next time I wear it.

Also these pictures mute the colour so I took a picture with half of my face cropped off so you could see it better.

(where'd the forehead go?!)

So it's got a lovely pattern and is really comfortable and flattering. Another bonus point is that it isn't too tight over the chest area, which is fantastic, as that's one of the worst things that can happen as a larger-chested girl when you try on a dress!

I think this is the first dress from Peacocks that I've tried but I've generally been very pleased with the other clothes I've bought, so I really can't recommend this dress enough!

I've been browsing their site and here are few other things I want that I probably won't get as I need to save. Gah.

Ladies Belted Dress -£20

Ladies Tea Dress -£20

Ladies Belted Chinos - £18

With these Chinos, it's more that I'm intrigued to see whether they suit me or not, cause I've been seeing them a lot and think they look quite nice.

Well that's it for now. As always, sorry for my absence, I've been having a bit of a difficult week (finding out your crush is most likely not single isn't really ideal, is it?) and have had two of my hardest tests for which I had to study a lot, so hopefully I should be on more frequently. Next time, with makeup I hope!

Although to add a bit of relevance to the post, I'll just show what my makeup routine has been lately -
VERY plain, as you can tell. I've just been using lip balm, concealer and mascara as I've been too lazy to do anything else!

Hello? Is it me you're looking for?

Ok, so the Lionel Richie post is a little nod to my absence and how people must be surprised that I've actually updated, although unfortunately, it's not really a real makeup post per se, rather a makeup-new jacket-jumble post.

A) These pics are good yet bad because they were taken on my best friend's canon camera but facebook screwed them up so meh.B) My eyes aren't shut, I'm just looking down
So this is my New Look parka ('look deep into the parka!') and I love it! It may be a bit parky (no pun intended) but I'm still going to wear it, unless it's pissing down, in which case, I'll pass. Another interesting fact about this photo is that I am actually wearing jeans. No, not jeggings, but jeans. Real jeans. This hasn't happened in about two years.

So my best friend then papped me quickly applying my lipstain and vaseline (life saver, that is) and these pictures look weird cause I had to resize them and the ratio may be off.

I used my Strictly palette, the same gold that I raved about just cause it was a lovely day and I wanted a bit of colour.

Awful pose on the first one, but it was funny. Anyway, just a small post which I hope makes up for my lack of posting lately, I'll try and get on this weekend!

Carnival Outfit!

Turns out, I did have enough time to take pictures of my outfit and makeup with my camera, so here goes!

For some reason my camera always makes the blue eyeshadows look a lot greyer than they are which is a bit annoying. Moving on, I did some typical 80s makeup here although a bit rushed, I'll take care to be more precise on Friday! I also didn't blend my eyeshadow out properly so it doesn't look quite right here. I think what's also missing is some highlighter on my cheekbones, but I'm not entirely sure I've got one, so I'll probably try UD's Sellout to see if that works.

Excuse the untidy wardrobe, I had to dig out some clothes for the outfit! So this is my outfit for Friday, it's...quite bright so I will most likely attract some stares, especially as msot Luxembourgers are shocked by a bit of colour!

Here you can see the funny fake Ray Ban's that I'm gonna wear (although not for lessons, won't be able to see much then!) and yeah, it'll be a lot of fun so bring on Friday!

Speaking of Ray Bans, I have new glasses! My old ones were breaking so I got some new frames and I love these, they're much wider so people can actually see my eye colour and not go after trhee years of knowing me:' You have blue eyes?!'

Hope you all liked this and there are more posts to come on Friday/ Saturday!

Outfit of the Day!

The first one, yay! Well, I'm just gonna try experimenting with this, cause generally, my outfits tend to be a bit repetitive and/or boring (like the days when I just wear jeans and a sweatshirt)

So here's my outfit from yesterday, which I wore to school:) Haha yeah, as a side note, we don't have uniforms which can be a pro and a con. The con being that way the rich people can't show off their designer stuff and annoy all us lesser mortals.

Excuse the dirty mirror and messy room, please! I only cleared it all up today, which took a total of four and a half hours! But anyway, on to the outfit, it's quite summery and I'm not sure whether I pulled it off with the tights, so let me know if it doesn't look season appropriate!

So, anyway the top is from Primark, cardigan from H&M, skirt from Jane Norman (reduced from £32 to £9.50!) and tights from Matalan. Haha, that's my all-english outfit.

And now with the woolly cardy/cape and hat that I wore instead of a coat.

Erm, yeah, as you can see my style looks rather...ecletic like this, to be honest I'm suprised no one stared (as it is custom to wear boring clothes here). I suppose wearing it with normal orange converse (yeah I know, doesn't go, but I was in a hurry) isn't as scandalous as pink doc martens.

So the cape/cardigan and hat are both from Primark and I bought them on saturday (as opposed to the other stuff all being june/july stuff) and I love them, especially the hat, it's so soft! As for the scarf, it's a christmas pressie from my best friend from a few years ago.

So that's it for my ootd, hope it was successful :) xxx
