Saturday night FOTN

Why hello there everyone, hasn't it been a long time?
I really need to apologise about that as I've been absolutely swamped with being sick/having school commitments/going out these past few weeks. Add to that that I have recently acquired an iPod Touch, well, I don't go on my computer often then, do it?

Last night, I went out with two good friends to a club that had a gow paint party, which was awesome! I would recommend not getting it in your hair/on your scalp as it really is a pain to get out (had to shampoo my hair twice and it still felt dry).

I have got some FOTN pictures for you all as I decided to go for a -gasp- smokey eye! I know, me, the girl who usually stays well away from them, decided to give it a go (:

I'm sorry, I've only just realised I have the same gormless expression on each picture. Awkward much?!

Anyway, I am in LOVE with the eyeshadow I used. This eyeshadow being MUA shade 12, the well know MAC Club dupe and I adore it, if it's a dupe or not. The duochrome makes it look flashy enough to wear on its own, although I did use a black eyeliner base on my eyelids to make it pop more.

I'm actually also quite pleased with my eyeliner flick! I used Sephora's liquid eyeliner, which I got for 5€ and to begin with, hated it as I got it EVERYWHERE, but I did the pencil trick to balance the flick and I think it ended up quite well :)

check out the Batman- The Dark Knight sheet music in the background..

And this here would explain the absence of review posts as I can't really swatch on my arm and it's a pain doing it on my right arm. I've been involved with this exchange project with Indian youths and they were over in Luxembourg and one of them did beautiful henna for a few people and this is my one! Unfortunately, it's faded now and is nearly gone...):

I hope you girls like this post and if you have any questions about products I used, let me know! :)

MUA Heaven & Earth - potential Naked dupe?

When I was over in England and in a Superdrug, I kept my eyes open for the MUA Professional Range - I found it in Lakeside, but they had hardly anything left, least of all the eyeshadow palettes. In Canterbury, I don't think they had it and Bromley didn't have the palette I was looking for. It was in Broadstairs where I managed to find it and then, naturally, buy it.

At £4, it is a steal. This palette is ideal for those wanting to try out shimmery golds and brows, especially as you get 12 shades. 12 shades for £4. At this point, I would calculate how much each eyeshadow costs, but as my talent in maths is astonishingly nonexistant, I won't bother.

Although it does lack very dark shades, it still gives you plenty of choice, even though some of the shades look very similar. The fact that it doesn't have really dark shades doesn't bother me as I don't usually go for very dark colours.

Another thing absent in this palette is matte shades. To be honest, that doesn't really bother me as I much prefer the shimmery eyeshadows, despite the risks of looking like a Twilight-esque vampire if there's too much fallout (I clash with glitter - I once opened this pot of glitter that my best friend had and got glitter EVERYWHERE)

These are all really pigmented, much like the single eyeshadows from their normal range. They blend easily as well.

I can't actually remember which shades I used in this EOTD as it was taken the day that I bought the palette and I've been really busy since then so it's gone.

BUT what I was interested in was whether you could call this palette a Naked dupe. So I got that out and started comparing. For comparing purposes, I've named the shades from the Heaven & Earth palette from the first row 1A,2A,etc... and from the second row 1B,2B,.... .

l-r: top row:Virgin, Sin, Half Baked, Toasted, Hustle;
bottom row: 1A, 3B, 3A, 2A, 5A
So dupes? Not exactly. As you can tell by the swatches, Sin and 3B aren't that similar, whereas Virgin seems like a less pigmented 1A. Hustle and 5A are nothing alike, but I think there are some pretty good dupes for Half Baked and Toasted. The pigmentation of the Heaven & Earth palette is great and the eyeshadows are also really smooth so I suppose if you refuse to spend your money on the Naked palette, this could be a nice replacement.

Beret FOTD

So yesterday I finally escaped my house (being stuck at home due to a combination of depressing weather and far too much homework) and my best friend and I went to our local *cough thirty minutes by bus far away* shopping center to go shopping.

We left at ten past 5 and it was already getting dark and by the time we got there, it was dark which was definitely weird to me, yet sort of made it more fun as I just LOVE shopping at night time (ok, this time evening. But when I was visiting my grandparents i nengland in April, we went shopping in Tesco's at 10 pm. IT WAS SO COOL!:P ok...geek naty is leaving now)

So on to makeup, I decided to use my sistah as inspiration and did my usual liner but with gold eyeshadow to spruce it up :) Of course, when I say gold eyeshadow, I mean Urban Decay's Half-Baked as that is the best gold eyeshadow I have.

Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion (original)
-Urban Decay Half Baked
-Sleek Gel Liner
-Rimmel Glam Eyes Lash Flirt mascara
-Maybelline Collossal Volume mascara
-Benefit Brow Zings in Medium
-Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Brown Black

Face:
-L'Oreal True Match Minerals in Golden Ivory
-Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent
-N.Y.C. Colour Wheel in Mocha Glow
-MeMeMe Poppy Tint

Lips:
-MUA Lipstick in shade 11

Wow, for once I remembered every product that I used yesterday! It's not often that I write a list of what I used but if you prefer it, let me know in the comments :) I'd also like to add that I ADORE the small of the MUA lipstick, it just smells lovely and it's so creamy!

I also used this excursion as an opportunity to wear my new red beret from H*M which I LOVE as well. I really hope I can hang on to this hat as the last two hats that I've had have both been carelessly left on the bus/school and therefore, have vanished :(

It was relatively simple, without proper blending and stuff, but I felt it didn't need anything extra :)

xxxxxxx BTW enter my giveaway ;) *shameless plug*
